Your Mission: As our Global Commodity Director based in China (Remote) and reporting to the VP of Global Supply Chain, your role will be pivotal in define and drive the Global Commodity strategy for strategic sourcing, category management, and purchasing of all materials bought for modules assembly and Silicon related materials (poly, wafer, cell). Proactively support regional sales operations and local factories to fulfill their procurement needs, while continuously building and improving strategic supplier relationships, pricing competitiveness, and service. Make Your Mark: How You Will Drive Change: Establishing and cultivating strategic partnerships with qualified suppliers, driving continual improvement in performance, quality, and cost reduction, as well as managing supplier agreements programmatically. Articulating the multi-year procurement strategy for the business and coordinates bidding and vendor selection, contract negotiation, and execution planning. Successful candidates will have deep experience in the solar industry, with demonstrated knowledge of strategic procurement, supplier performance management and operational procurement. Managing responsibilities including staffing decisions, mentoring/developing team members, assigning resources as needed to drive long term sourcing strategies and ensure success of team’s key objectives. Coordinating with R&D, Products, Manufacturing, Quality, Buyers and Planners to develop meaningful guidelines and governance for supplier evaluation, selection and portfolio-level RFX. Leading periodic internal commodity strategy reviews and coordinate supplier quarterly business reviews, focused on quality, cost, product performance, business continuity plans, and improvements in commercial terms. Your Toolkit: Skills That Make a Difference Essential for your Success: We understand that everyone has followed unique career paths, gaining valuable knowledge along the way. Don't worry if you don't tick all the boxes – apply anyway! Your experience is more than just a list of technical skills. Graduate of Engineering, Business or Supply Chain Management degree. Experience of progressive levels of responsibility within complex high volume global manufacturing environments managing > $100M in annual material spend. In addition, experience leading a global supply chain organization in a senior leadership role. Demonstrated ability in contract negotiation and management. Fluent in English and Chinese. It would be Nice if You Have: Familiarity with standards and technical certification requirements for renewable energy system design and components (solar, storage.) Knowledge and experience with Continuous Improvement (i.e. 8D, Six Sigma methodologies).
