Position overview Join allnex and our dynamic R&D team in the position of R&D Chemist in Shanghai, China to work on innovative amino and phenolic resin products, synthesis, characterization, and the relationship to the application performance. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative resin solutions that enhance the performance and durability of various materials. Your expertise will contribute to cutting-edge research projects, driving advancements in the field, and supporting our commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable products. If you are passionate about chemistry and excited about the opportunity to innovate and develop cutting-edge resin solutions, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities Led and contributed to new projects focused on short, medium, and long-term product development and innovation in amino and phenolic resin technology. Develop new formulations and improve existing products to meet specific performance criteria and customer requirements. Conduct rigorous testing and analysis of resin properties, ensuring consistency, stability, and high performance. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, and quality control, to ensure seamless integration of new resins into manufacturing processes. Serve as a liaison between academics (scouting and collaboration) and allnex's application laboratories and customers. Proactively suggest technical solutions within the R&D community. Promote allnex technologies at conferences and apply for patents to ensure its protection. Contribute to resolving critical process incidents. Maintain detailed records of experiments, findings, and progress, and prepare technical reports and presentations. Follow the allnex SHE policy. Required skills and experience Proven experience in the amino and phenolic resins, as well as painting with a deep understanding of polymerization processes and resin chemistry. Proficiency in using advanced analytical techniques and instruments for resin testing and characterization. Good command in English. Strong track record of innovation and creativity in developing new materials and formulations. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges. Qualifications Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in Organic Chemistry, or a related field with a focus on polymer chemistry or materials science.
