Position Summary: Sealed Air’s Executive Director, Integrated Business Planning is responsible for ensuring that all cross-functional teams are aligned to one single operating plan that will deliver the company’s strategic goals in the most effective way, ultimately optimizing service, cost and cashflow. The IBP leader will foster an effective collaboration and decision-making 5 steps process by holding the various stakeholders accountable to provide monthly financialized responses to the key IBP questions below: 1. Portfolio step (Led and owned by the Portfolio marketing Team): 2. Demand step (Led and owned by the Sales Team): 3. Supply step (Led and owned by the Supply Chain Team): The IBP leader is also the leader of the: 4. the Integrated Reconciliation Process and Review (IRR) step which: • Focuses on the integrated P&L Performance based on latest IBP Plan coming from the individual steps. • Identifies, develops and aligns agenda, decisions, and issues for the Management Business Review through effective continuous integrated reconciliation. • Reviews Issues, Scenarios and Actions to close gaps and exploit opportunities. 5. and Management Business Review (MBR) which: • Approves updated plans (portfolio, demand, supply, financial, and resulting financials). • Ensures Alignment to Strategy. • Reviews Scenarios, Issues and makes Decisions based on recommendation from Integrated Reconciliation. The IBP leader will monitor the quality of the output of the various meetings through the IBP class A performance measures such as milestone adherence, demand bias, forecast accuracy, production to plan, service levels, and lagging indicators such as Net Trade Sales, Margin and cashflow. The IBP leader is a high potential candidate who many executives see as a strong candidate to become part of the executive team. As such, this role is a strong proving ground to learn and master every aspect of the business from strategy to portfolio, sales, supply, and resulting financials. The IBP leader has the respect of key leadership team members and has the willingness to professionally challenge them - non-performance, gaps in process, behaviors, attendance, action plans and lack of decision making. The major areas of responsibility are as follows: Provide Executive Team members with information that supports decision making so that decisions align Sealed Air’s product/portfolio, demand, supply, and financial requirements and deliver strategic objectives. Support the ongoing process improvement of the Sealed Air Integrated Business planning process. Ensure organizational adoption and acceptance of the IBP process to improve control and utilization of Sealed Air’s resources. Ensure that Sealed Air’s IBP process achieves and sustains a Class A level of performance. Support continuous education, as required, to ensure broad organizational support and alignment behind the IBP process especially during periods when there are personnel changes among Process Executive Owners and Coordinators. Provide analytical support to improve the quality and timeliness of IBP data and reporting for Product/Portfolio, Demand, Supply, Finance, and contingency plans and changes. In support of the Demand Process Executive Owner and Controller, ensure the systems and business processes establish IBP as the centralized demand hub to consolidate, track, and report monthly changes for demand and financials. Partner with the regional finance leader to increase reliance on financial indicators in IBP decision-making processes and to eliminate the traditional, annual budgeting process. Lead the monthly IRR and facilitate the monthly MBR. Publish results of the MBR within 48 hours of the meeting. Track, monitor, and report process KPIs. Ensure that KPIs are being used to track the team performance and their evaluation. Ensure each meeting is critiqued by the participants, lead a Class A assessment of the process annually, and schedule outside assessment of the process as required. Detailed responsibilities include: Developing a working knowledge of all products and services. Publishing a rolling, minimum18-month schedule of all process reviews. Leading the monthly Integrated Reconciliation Process and Review. Preparing and publishing the MBR deck 48 hours in advance of the meeting. Briefing the Regional President at least 24 hours prior to the MBR on the content, decisions made in prior steps, and decisions needed. Documenting and publishing MBR decisions made within 48 hours of the MBR. Ensuring critiques of each meeting are conducted. Reviewing with process leaders any weaknesses in their parts of the process and helping them develop and execute improvement plans. Leading a Class A self-assessment of the process annually. Scheduling an outside assessment as appropriate. Continuously improving Sealed Air's Integrated Business process. Maintaining close coordination with demand and supply management especially during periods of constrained supply. Participating with the Executive Team in continuous reviews of the company’s strategy and strategic objectives. Required Competencies and Related Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent leadership, presence, and executive communication skills (written and verbal). Problem Solving, Prioritization and Executive Decision-Making skills. Demonstrated proficiency in identifying, analyzing, and resolving functional, team, and individual performance problems in a fair, equitable, and professional manner using a thoughtful, deliberative, decision-making process. Must be a self-starter and results driven. Must be able to lead through ambiguity and act with urgency. Strong Operations and financial acumen. Highly organized, outcome oriented with excellent planning skills. Qualifications and Experience: Experience in successfully leading Integrated Business planning in a complex business environment for a global, multi-billion, multi-portfolios. Successful experience in transformational projects. Demonstrated leadership in achieving shared objectives in a matrix organization, managing cross-divisional initiatives, and cross-functional teams.
