The hiring company is the world's largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners and defense, space and security system. They are currently looking for a System Engineer to their Beijing office. Job Description Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Supports the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Develops data packages used to support operations analysis projects. Collects and performs statistical analysis of mission, usability, cost and effectiveness data in support of analyses. Compiles user needs through direct means (e.g., documents and research and field observations) to determine the current state of operations. Develops user surveys to collect cost and operational data and identify needs. Provides supporting data for changes to the operational envelope for existing systems. Conducts cost and performance analysis of existing systems across and outside their defined envelope. Assesses current state and supplier roadmaps for various technologies. Drafts reports and presents at program meetings results of analyses in support of acquiring potential business. Develops data packages. Supports the identification of figures of merit, and develops cost data to support development of cost performance models and best value analysis. Assists in the trade study effort. Contributes material to trade study results package. Identifies opportunities for evolutionary or revolutionary product concepts through operations analyses associated with operational scenarios. Collects and organizes user needs and scenario data. Extracts relevant operational and system information needed for requirements derivation and analysis. Runs model applications and output data processing tasks. Performs data adequacy and consistency checks. Assists with preparation of briefings and provides input to requirements documents. Assists in the development and writing of the program affordability plan. Supports analysis of product team affordability initiatives and opportunities. Assists in the development of program affordability metrics and supporting rationale. Requirements Education / Experience: Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. Knowledge: Makes use of and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts. Problem Solving: Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Discretion: Works under general supervision, and no instructions are needed for routine work. Receives general instructions for special assignments. Work is reviewed for sound technical judgment and overall adequacy. Impact: Contributes to the completion of specific project milestones. Failure to achieve results, reaching erroneous decisions or making faulty recommendations may cause delays in program schedules and may result in the allocation of additional resources. Liaison: Interacts primarily with internal personnel and infrequently with inter-organizational and external customers on routine matters. High standard of honesty and integrity. Fluent in Mandarin and English in both speaking and writing. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with customers/partner, internally within the team and with management.
